How I Got Into PPC
Five years ago my Mothers acupuncture business was going through a slump. She used to squeeze patients into her busy schedule, but now big gaps in her work day were opening up, with less and less customer inquiries.
Until then, it had always been enough to take out adverts in the Yellow Pages and similar local magazines. The problem was, no one was reading these any more, everyone was using the Internet.
It seemed she would have to catch up with the rest of the world, and build an online presence. I took on the responsibility to create her a website, but it didn’t go as planned. To our eyes the website looked great, but the problem was, no one was visiting it.
It was then after lots of Google searches, that I came across something called Google Adwords. The concept was very simple, choose words or phrases that you think prospective customers would type into Google, and then run advertisements for your business on those searches.
It was brilliant. I setup the ads.
Nothing changed straight away…
But gradually, week by week, her practice started getting busier.
Now that people could find her business again, there was no shortage of customers.
Seeing the power of AdWords, I decided to learn more about the platform. Since then I’ve worked to turn AdWords advertising into a science.
